National Vulnerability Database

This post is not exactly about client-side exploits. However, I just learned of the National Vulnerability Database from Dave Mann and Steve Christey. The database is similar to SecurityFocus' vulnerability database, but differs slightly in where the sources are for the vulnerabilities.

As a researcher who's very interested in exploits and vulnerabilities, I like that there are multiple sources of vulnerability databases to query. This will give us a more comprehensive picture of, for example, all serious vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer in the last 6 months. By the way, the answer to that is roughly around 50.
